On Tuesday 4th December, Echline celebrating being awarded the Green Flag Status by Eco-Schools (part of the Keep Scotland Beautiful Charity).
The Eco Committee from 2017/18 worked extremely hard to achieve this prestigious award and created a video to illustrate the hard work they had put into making Echline as Eco friendly as possible. The video was shown at the Green Flag Ceremony, which the whole school attended.
The new Eco flag was paraded around the school – cheered on by every class, then raised after all the pupils said the school’s Eco Code. Everyone was so excited to see the flag flying high and proud of the achievement it stands for. Well done everyone!
This year’s Eco Committee are excited to continue the good work that has been started and bring new eco-friendly ideas and initiatives to the table.
The House Captains organised a dress down day and book sale in aid of Children in Need. Thank you to all families who donated books for the book sale and for your generous donations which means we have raised over £600 for such a worthy charity!
Well done to the House Captains for organising this for the school and nursery, and for reading the Pudsey story to some of the younger classes this week. Your hard work is much appreciated!
Thanks very much also to Mrs Shaw and Mrs Hinchliffe for coming in for the morning to help out!
Yesterday, during our outdoor PE lesson, we continued on our run to Culloden! Daniel S calculated the total distance so far as being 1185 laps of the football pitch, which is 122.7 miles! We are just past Aviemore now and reckon we will reach Culloden next Thursday!
Well done to Sarah for her fabulous entry to the Winter Windows competition! Her design is going to be made into a lightbox to be displayed in Edinburgh over the festive period. The theme for designs this year was Kindness. Congratulations, Sarah!
All of our P7s walked to the high school this afternoon to take part in a maths event organised by the S6 Numeracy Ambassadors. We worked on some maths challenges in the library and also did a maths treasure hunt around the school, getting the opportunity to visit many different areas of the school.
We all really enjoyed the activities and had a fun afternoon! Thanks very much to our parent helpers who came with us, Cameron’s mum, Geena’s mum and Samuel A’s mum, as well as Ms Prot and the S6 Numeracy Ambassadors for organising a great event for us. We are hoping to come back soon for another visit!!
