Yesterday, Thursday 15th March, the Primary 7s completed their World of Work Projects at Hopetoun House. They worked extremely hard on planning either a wedding or a concert and have learned some key skills for the workplace and for later life, such as decision making, time management and leadership skills.
They presented their great ideas professionally and were praised by the Hopetoun staff for this. Thank you to all families who attended and gave the children a large audience! Have a look at the photos of the presentations and effort that went into the display boards!
Yesterday, Monday 12th March, the P7 year group had the opportunity to take part in the Art of Listening Workshop run by the Edinburgh International Festival.
We discussed different types of music and got to experience art song. We learned that the piano is a versatile instrument and can be used for many different genres of music. We enjoyed stopping to actually listen to a piece of music and write/draw about our own personal response to it.
Thank you to Edinburgh International Festival staff Francesca, Tim, Andy and Laura, and thank you to Mrs Yule and Mrs Mercer for accompanying us on the trip.
On Thursday 1st February all P7s visited Hopetoun House to start their World of Work project. They are tasked with planning either a wedding or a music concert at Hopetoun House. The P7 event planners got a tour of the house and grounds to look at the available space Hopetoun has for these events.
Back at school, the P7s are in groups, with some groups planning a wedding and other groups a concert. They will present their work to parents and Hopetoun staff in the ballroom on Thursday 15th March.
We look forward to seeing families there on presentation day!
We can’t believe it’s nearly been 2 weeks since the hardworking P7s sold their brilliant products at the Christmas Fair! Well done to you all for a successful afternoon and thanks to our customers as well as parents who helped us along the way!
On Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd November, all of the Primary 6s and Primary 7s performed their Show ‘Come Fly With Me’. The audiences were huge and everyone loved the Show. It was a fantastic experience that we will never forget!
