On our final day at Broomlee we all enjoyed our last meal – a big breakfast of bacon, eggs, beans, sausage, hash browns and more! Then back to more cballenging and fun outdoor activities.
What an experience Camp has been! We’ve all learning a lot about ourselves and gained life skills, while having endless fun.
On Wednesday 13th June, P5 pupils made the journey to the Broomlee Centre for a residential trip.
After meeting the staff and receiving a guiding tour, the pupils were treated to a delicious lunch, followed by 2 activities; including the Tree Climb, Night Line, Mohawk Walk, Archery and Incline Log.
At night everyone was treated to a decilious dinner, games and supper.
What a fantastic trip so far!
I just want to share the exciting news that we are currently first for the whole of Edinburgh in the ‘Big Pedal’. This is a nationwide competition and we are currently 33rd in the UK and 5th in Scotland!
First of all, well done to everyone who has been traveling to school by bike or scooter.
Secondly, can you please encourage your child (if they can) to come to school by bike or scooter over the next few days? We are so close to winning for the whole of Edinburgh and Scotland which would be an amazing achievement.
Thank you as always for your amazing and continued support.
STEM week proved a great success at Echline Primary! The P4/5 assembly gave a fantastic introduction into STEM week and all children did so well in explaining it to the whole school.
During STEM week we had some exciting workshops and visitors. In P4-P5, we had Denise from Napier University who spoke to us about 3D printing and we even got to use the 3D pens to create our own. She also did workshops in P6-7 about coding.
We also had John Renwick from ESP Scotland (also a parent) who kindly came in to show children from P4-7 the immersive reality kit. Which was great fun!
David Wylie from Leonardo airborne safe systems came into P1 to speak to them about helicopters.
There were many more STEM activities that happened around the school involving building marshmallow towers and hoop gliders.
I’m sure everyone had a fantastic week learning about STEM!
