The Big Pedal ‘May the Fourth be With You’

Last Friday, the children at Echline Primary were invited to come into school dressed as their favourite ‘Star Wars’ character to mark the end of the ‘Big Pedal’.

Here are some pictures to show what a fantastic end to the two weeks we had!

Well done all!

The big pedal

Hello everyone!

I just want to share the exciting news that we are currently first for the whole of Edinburgh in the ‘Big Pedal’. This is a nationwide competition and we are currently 33rd in the UK and 5th in Scotland!

First of all, well done to everyone who has been traveling to school by bike or scooter.

Secondly, can you please encourage your child (if they can) to come to school by bike or scooter over the next few days? We are so close to winning for the whole of Edinburgh and Scotland which would be an amazing achievement.

Thank you as always for your amazing and continued support.

Mr Williamson

STEM week proved a great success at Echline Primary!  The P4/5 assembly gave a fantastic introduction into STEM week and all children did so well in explaining it to the whole school.

During STEM week we had some exciting workshops and visitors.  In P4-P5, we had Denise from Napier University who spoke to us about 3D printing and we even got to use the 3D pens to create our own. She also did workshops in P6-7 about coding.

We also had John Renwick from ESP Scotland (also a parent) who kindly came in to show children from P4-7 the immersive reality kit. Which was great fun!

David Wylie from Leonardo airborne safe systems came into P1 to speak to them about helicopters.

There were many more STEM activities that happened around the school  involving building marshmallow towers and hoop gliders.

I’m sure everyone had a fantastic week learning about STEM!

Children In Need

Well done to everyone for dressing up today and donating your £1 for such a worthwhile cause. You all looked fantastic!

Thank you very much to everyone who baked for the bake sale and who came along to buy something. I think we have all had plenty of treats today!

Finally a big well done to the House Captains for organising and running our Children In Need morning. Our total at the moment is a brilliant £800!! The final total will be revealed next week!
