The Owl Who Was Afraid of The Dark

P2 finally finished their Owl Who Was Afraid of The Dark topic last week. We covered lots of literacy based activities like creating Firework Safety posters, listening to instructions and following them, unscrambling sentences about the book, and drawing pictures based on sentences about the book.

The boys and girls thought that the piece de resistance was their paper plate owl, they had lots of fun creating them over the course of a few days.

However Miss Bennett is especially proud of the extra chapters that each pupil wrote. We created our own titles based on some super wow words to describe dark. Then we chose a character and described them, and wrote about why that character liked the dark. In the end we chose to write about a tasty meal that Polp ate.

The children were incredibly engaged in this activity and the books that they produced were incredibly impressive and high quality. Well done P2!
