This week in Primary 4/5 and Primary 5 we are working on making our own video games using Scratch and our imaginations. We are looking at how games are put together and the different roles to help make a video game into a reality. The task requires lots of collaborative and teamworking skills in addition to hard work, patience and problem solving!
With a game developer to answer questions and a whole lot of motivation, teams of children are working to make a demo game to pitch to peers, games industry and business professionals at the end of the week. Who will be the winning team at the end of the week?
Bring on Friday!
Additionally, on Friday the children will have the opportunity to try out a virtual reality headset called the Occulus Rift. They will have the chance to try Minecraft with the Occulus Rift for a short period of time to get a feel for it. A letter will have gone home today to let you opt out of the experience for any health and safety concern that might arise. If you have any questions about this or the rest of Games Design Week please contact Miss Aylward or Mr Moir.
